  1. You are already learning secret-secret nursing assessment skills. Sometimes I assess patient’s head-to-toe as I demonstrated in school, but more often I assess patients as I’m ambulating them to the bathroom (a great way to check out the bum and listen to lung sounds) or applying sequential compression devices (at my old hospital we called them compression boots)and assessing dorsal pedal pulses and bilateral lower extremities for blood clots.
